Rivalda Café & Restaurant is situated in one of the most spectacular historic regions-the
Buda Castle district. Within a few minutes walk of the restaurant are many of the most popular
sites and attractions, such as the Castle itself, with the National Gallery and Museum of History,
Fisherman's Bastion, and Mathias Church. Since the Castle district is major tourist centre, getting
to Rivalda is simple, with many possiblities.

Rivalda is found on Színház utca, next to the National Dance Theatre. The street
runs from Dísz Square, one of the main squares in the Castle district, to the gates of
the Buda Castle at Szent György Square.
Entrance by car is allowed in the Castle district. A PARKING ticket must be procured at one
of the entrance gates, and then you can proceed directly to the restaurant and can park right
in front of it. Parking fees are 400 HUF/hour and are payable as you leave the gate enclosed area.
Taxis are allowed in and out with no charge.
The Budapest Transportation Commission has 2 bus routes that pass through the Castle district,
and the restaurant can be reached by both.
The Number 16 bus starts on the Pest side at Deák Ferenc tér (Deák
Ferenc Square). It crosses the Lánchíd (Chain Bridge) and it's final stop is at
Dísz tér (Dísz Square), 2 minutes walk from Rivalda. The number 16 bus operates
from 5:30 am till 10:30 pm every day, in 10-15 minute intervals. From Dísz Square, the
last bus departs at 22:37. In the summer months, between June 1st and August 31st, there is one
extra run, so the last bus leaving Dísz Square is 23:07.
The so-called VÁRBUSZ (Castle Bus) is a small bus that departs from Moszkva tér
(Moscow Square) on the Buda side and goes all around in the Castle district, with the final stop
being at the Funicular. If one gets off here, it is a 2 minute walk to Rivalda. The Castle Bus
runs from 5 am till 23:05, at about 3-7 minute intervals during the week, and 4-10 minute intervals
on weekends.
One of the most interesting modes of transportation in Budapest is the Buda Castle Funicular.
It begins at Clark Ádám tér (Clark Ádám Square), on the Buda
side of the Lánchíd (Chain Bridge) and lands you on Szent György tér
(Szent György Square), and from there it's a 2 minute walk to Rivalda. The Funicular operates
daily from 7:30 am till 22:00.
