Rivalda's wine list has been created with the philosophy that food and wine are intended not only to complement
one another, but to inspire one another. The list was developed to feature solely the wines of
Hungary- in an effort to ensure that customers become increasingly more familiar with the wine
regions, vintners and wines of this country.
With over 45 selections to choose from, the wine list offers good depth and breadth from 15
of the 22 wine regions, including most of the well-known winemakers, as well as a sprinkling of
lesser known, but upcoming vineyards.
Rivalda's Maitre d' and Sommelier, Győző Szeremley or Ágnes Weninger, one of the owners,
will be happy to assist you in the matching of your choice of food and your wine, or tell you
more about any of the wines or vintners.
In an effort to increase awareness of some of the lesser known vintners, Rivalda holds 4-5 "Wine
& Dine" Dinners annually, wherein the wines of one particular winemaker are paired with
a 5 course meal developed especially to complement the vintages, and where the vintners themselves
talk about their work, their wines, and their philosophy of wine-making. (Check out the Special
Events section for further details.)

Velvety, silky wine with a beautiful fruity aroma and flavour. A worthy representative of the great Merlots of Villány.
Merfelsz Kadarka, Szekszárd...2006
This is the country's best Kadarka. Thanks to the joint work of the vintner and the viticulturist we can taste a full-bodied thick, vibratingly spicy red wine. The small quantity of grapes per vine and the heat emanating back from the earth has brought about a high sugar content and flavour concentration. So much so that the wine was bottled without clarification and therefore all the aromas that are indigenous to Kadarka have remained.
Taschner Pinot Noir, Sopron.2005
Világos téglavörös színu könnyed bor a Pinot Noir-okra jellemzo összes erénnyel. Pici levegozés után rögtön megmutatjs magát, fuszeres, pirosgyümölcsös illatokkal. Gróf Buttler Bikavér Superior, Eger.2004/05
Its color is an intense cardinal red, with an almost untransparent core. Its aroma is complex and prominantly rich. If we close our eyes, we can envision blackberry, raspberry, violet, cinnamon, vanilla and noble oak. On the palate it is dry, the acids are vivid and energetic, the rich tannins appear definitely - but not agressively. A big-bodied, rich wine with a long life potential.
Chateau Dereszla száraz(dry) Szamorodni...2003
This is a traditional wine aged in barrels under a film of yeast which was created from the combination of both healthy and noble rotted grapes.
